Staring into fire can relax, mesmerise, or evoke quiet reflections. Flares and shapes emerge and disappear in split-seconds with a ferocity the eye cannot register.
In my paintings, I wanted to capture those shapes, patterns and rhythms normally unseen, the sparking fire ribbons, rivulets of flame, large billowing bursts and tiny fireballs.
